UNCLE
STEVE’S CAMP
Steven Kessner is the founder of Uncle Steve’s Camp. While it is
presently just a dream, he is actively searching for sites
to make it a reality. A successful real estate developer
with a large number of properties in East Harlem, Steven
Kessner has a desire to return some measure of his good
fortune to the neighborhood. For the past several years he
has been closely involved with Harlem RBI (Returning
Baseball to Inner Cities). This organization brings kids
off of the streets to play baseball and, in the process,
gives them an education, prepares them for and gets them
into college. Steve Kessner is a member of their Board of
Directors and chairs the Development Committee. He was
instrumental in building the organization’s Field of Dreams
on East 100th Street in East Harlem. As an outgrowth of his
involvement with Harlem RBI, Steven Kessner feels that there
is an urgent need for a summer camp where the kids from East
Harlem can go to play ball and experience life in a rural
setting. In the near future, a site will be acquired and
Uncle Steve’s Camp will become a reality and fulfill Steven
Kessner’s dream.
